Good, but not as great as the movie. It takes place on Long Island. The main difference in the plot from the movie is that the Hooper character played by Richard Dreyfus is tall and handsome, and Brody’s wife throws herself at him and they fuck in a motel, and Brody suspects something and dislikes Hooper intensely. Also Hooper does not have his own super-expensive, fully equipped, floating laboratory ship. Also, Hooper gets eaten by the shark.

My favorite scenes from the movie are not in the book. “We’re gonna need a bigger boat.” The singing of “Show Me the Way to Go Home,” The story of Quint surviving while sharks ate his shipmates in WWII. The music.
