Perish Twice
by Robert B. Parker

A Sunny Randall novel. The story it told by Sunny, who is a good looking blonde private detective divorced from Richie, who she still loves. He is the honest member of an Irish mob family in Boston. Much of the story is about the failing marriages of Sunny’s sister Elizabeth, who is a snob and Sunny’s friend Judy, who is a shrink. The crime part of the story involves a lesbian executive of a feminist organization who hires Sunny to protect her from a stalker. A woman working at the feminist organization is shot, the stalker is found dead with a note taking responsibility for the woman’s murder. Sunny pursues the case after the police have closed it and after she is fired by the lesbo. It is a quick read. I enjoyed it.
