A Spenser novel in which Susan meets Hawk for the first time. Spenser and Hawk are working for opposite sides, but each saves the other. A man in debt to a loan shark hires Spenser to find his runaway wife who has hooked up with radical feminists who rob a bank to get money for guns to murder men. The story is told by Spenser. It is enjoyable.
