State of Fear
by Michael Crichton

A thriller told by God about an eco-terror plot foiled by an Indiana-Jones-like scientist and a few aides he recruited. Too much happens in too few days. The bad guys are unlikable, but the good characters are unlikable lawyers. The book is documented with technical footnotes and a good bibliography showing scientific weaknesses in the global-warming scare.
