The Africa of Albert Schweitzer
by Charles Joy and Melvin Arnold

A documentary description of Schweitzer's medical mission with lots of photographs. An interesting photo book detailing life in Lambarene. It ends with an essay by the good doctor in which he advocates paternalistic administration of the colonies rather than democracy or independence.

Year Read: 1979, 1986
