Cruel & Unusual
by Patricia Cornwell

The 4th thriller told by Dr. Kay Scarpetta. She gives up smoking. Her niece Lucy is 17 and a computer genius. Anyway this is a good suspense story and a page turner involving a serial killer in Richmond, Virginia whose fingerprints match those of a murderer who is executed at the beginning of the story. Scarpetta is made to look guilty of the murders including the murder of her morgue supervisor. At the end the killer escapes. He turns out to be Gault who is featured in subsequent novels.
