The Disappearance of Sherlock Holmes
by Forrest Carter

A satisfying adventure story set in London, NYC, and Chicago around 1900. The book has footnotes that provide the history of all the real buildings and landmarks mentioned in the story as well as references to other Sherlock Holmes adventures. I was amazed at how many of the NYC locations mentioned in the story I am familiar with.
