The Feminine Mystique
by Betty Friedan

It explains an awful lot about the popular myth that a woman's place is in the home. It is well written, hard hitting, and fully documented. A great book, but too Freudian.

Years later my views on the man vs. woman problem changed almost completely. I now believe most of the differences between the sexes are natural. See Brain Sex by Anne Moir and David Jessel.
