Fourth Down to Death
by Bret Halliday

A Mike Shayne mystery about fixing football games in Miami. The confusing plot is resolved in the final scene when Shayne gets all the surviving characters in the same room. Shayne is a well paid and well known private investigator and ladies man. He even has fans. He has an undistinguished personality. The writing is reasonable, but not captivating.
