A good western novel set in Wyoming during winter. The story is told by God.
King Mabry is a loner with a reputation for being a gunslinger. A troupe of
actors from the east hires a criminal to guide them through Wyoming to their
next engagement. He knows they are carrying a lot of money and he plans to kill
them and take it. King suspects as much and decides to follow them. He is
infatuated with one of the pretty actresses. The plot is relatively tight for
a L’Amour novel. The writing is solid.
