The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest
by Stieg Larsson

Very good, but too long (818 pages). He gives background information on many characters, some of whom play only a minor role in the overall plot. The Swedish movie from this book covers the first 200 pages in 10 minutes. It also omits about 200 pages pertaining to the editor Becker, which are interesting, but not essential to the overall plot. The trial of Lisbeth Salander is the high point of the story.
