The Myth of the Robber Barons
by Burton W. Folsom, Jr.

A small revisionist history of American entrepreneurs. A chapter each on Vanderbilt, James J. Hill, the Scrantons, Charles Schwab, John D. Rockefeller, and Andrew Mellon and a concluding chapter on how all American history text books have got it wrong or even backwards. He makes a useful distinction between political capitalists and the entrepreneurial capitalists featured in this book.
