The Silencers

The 4th novel told by assassin, Matt Helm. He is assigned to kill The Cowboy who is thought to be the leader of a soviet spy operation trying to sabotage U.S. A-bomb and missile tests in the southwest. The plot involves various U.S. intelligence agencies failing to communicate with each other and getting in each otherís way. Helm kills The Cowboy even though he realizes The Cowboy is an underling. Helm falls in love with a girl who persistently double-crosses him and vice versa.
