South Africa: A Study in Conflict
by Pierre van den Berghe

A sociological history and analysis of South Africa. He presents the facts objectively enough so that you can evaluate them yourself. The government of South Africa is becoming totalitarian, especially toward non-whites. Unfortunately, the book is 20 years old, so it doesn't describe recent developments. The book refrains from sociological gibberish until the final chapter, which seems to be for social "scientists."

Year Read: 1986
