Ticktock
by Dean Koontz

A horror/humor novel told by God about a Vietnamese-American guy who receives a rag doll that turns into a monster that tries to kill him. After 100 pages of horror he meets a California girl and the book becomes a comedy. She easily accepts the fact that he is being hunted by a “doll snake rat-quick little monster thing” as though it happens every day and she helps him escape. Along the way we meet her mother who is equally nutty and his mother who is a cranky Vietnamese traditionalist. The whole story takes place within 24 hours. By the 19th hour the couple get married. Funny.
