The War between the Tates
by Alison Lurie

The best novel by a modern author that I have read since The Catcher in the Rye. It deals with adultery and its affects on the thoughts and actions of the husband and wife. Except for a silly episode involving a demonstration by women's libbers, the novel is realistic and clever.

Year Read: 1976
