The Widening Gyre
by Robert B. Parker

A Spenser novel in which he is hired by a politician to retrieve a video tape of his wife having sex that is being used to blackmail him into dropping his campaign for senate. He goes to Washington D.C. to spy on the son of a Boston gangster. A good story.
